Drimnagh: I just saw a small flock of Waxwings, about 14, on my return from the school run in the snow - they were in a tree in Manor Estate, Dublin 12.PF

Tolka Branch January Outing - Dun Laoghaire to Bullock Harbour 

GF & JF saw 20 Waxwing at the Martello tower in Sandymount en route to Dun Laoghaire from the Bots.

West Pier, Dun Laoghaire: 3 Great Northern Diver, 2 Red-throated Diver, 6 Great-crested Grebe, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Grey Heron, 3 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Turnstone, and lots of Shags in the inner harbour, several Black Guillemot and a few Common Guillemot in winter plumage with one in summer plumage.
Over at Windsor Terrace were 3 Mediterranean Gulls, Rock Pipit, Oystercatcher, and more Turnstone
We finished our viewing at Bullock Harbour where we saw a Greenshank. Other species seen on the day were RedshankKittiwake, Black-headed Gulls, Herring Gulls, Great Black-backed Gulls, Cormorants, Pied Wagtail, and Hooded Crow.

Turvey:  9.15am a 2nd year male Hen Harrier came in hunting over the field, but high-tailed it out when the Kestrel came and chased it away. Not for long though, it was back after five minutes and caught a mouse, then went to ground. A good start to our slow 3 hour walk around Turvey park. One hour later, the Hen harrier put on another hunting display for us over the "Partridge Field" before we moved on down to the Turvey North hide. Our sightings for the 3 hour morning walk were... Brent Geese, Shelduck, Wigeon, Mallard, Gadwall (3), Shoveler, Teal, Little Grebe, Cormorant, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Hen harrier (2ndYM), Buzzard, Kestrel, Peregrine, Coot, Moorhen, Oystercatcher, Dunlin, Redshank, Golden Plover, Grey Plover, Black-tail Godwits, Lapwing, Curlew, Snipe (fly-pass), Black-headed gulls, Common gulls, Herring Gulls, Great Black-backed Gulls, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Pied Wagtail, Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Blackbird, Fieldfare, Song Thrush, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Starling, Magpie, Jackdaw, Hooded Crow, Rook, House sparrow, Brambling, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Linnet, Yellowhammer. BC&JFields.

Griffith Park: I had a Common Kingfisher fly low over the Tolka River in Griffith Park.FM
