Tolka River Valley Park Finglas:  On a 2 hour walk in the afternoon...noted birds spotted were...

circa the Ashtown ponds: a hunting female Sparrowhawk; Goldcrest, Little Egret, 3 Buzzards, Mute Swan pair, Kingfisher (flypast), Jay, Cormorant 

circa the football pitches:   Wrens, Dunnock, Goldfinches, Linnets, Jackdaws, Rooks, Hooded Crows, House Sparrows, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Grey Wagtail (2), Dipper, Grey Heron (3), Song Thrush (2), Reed Bunting, Robins, Magpies, Mallards, Pied Wagtails, Little Grebes, Coots, Moorhens, Black-headed Gulls, Common Gulls, Herring Gulls, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Blackbirds, Starlings, Woodpigeons, Collared Doves, Brent Geese (29), Pheasants (2) and Oystercatchers (7). Branch outing to County Louth Coast:    

Dundalk Harbour:  2 Buzzard;  1 Greenshank; Redshank; Lapwing: Bar and Black-tailed Godwit; Whimbrel; Teal; Mute Swan; Grey Heron; and Little Egret.
Giles Quay:  Several Great Northern Divers and a few Red-throated DiversRazorbill; Brent Geese; Common Scoter; Oystercatcher; Ringed Plover; Grey Seals and 1 male Stonechat.
Soldier's Point:  Red-breasted Mergansers; Ringed Plover; Oystercatcher.
Annagassan Harbour:  3 Goldeneye;  1 Great Northern Diver
Port Oriel:  2 Adult and 1 third winter Iceland Gull;  1 third winter Glaucous Gull.

Stillorgan:   Back in December, I counted 39 Goldfinches on my nyjer feeders which I think was a record for my garden. It was surpassed today by 40 Linnets at the same feeders!!MC

Rogerstown Estuary/Turvey Park:   Birds seen today by Brian Hamilton, Liam Feeney, Thomas Kavanagh, Adrian Rooney with myself, apart from the usual fare around Rogerstown Estuary/Turvey Park while I was on hide duty:   Sparrowhawk (fm), Peregrine putting on a good show for all to see, a pair of Kestrels, ringtail Hen Harrier, 6 Buzzards in the air together and 2 Red Kites apart from each other. 
Afterwards I took a walk around Broadmeadows Estuary: spotting a female Kingfisher at the outflow under the M1 flyover and a Whooper Swan among the Mutes, Goldeneye, Red-breasted Mergansers & Great-crested Grebes in winter plumage.BC

Dun Laoghaire Harbour at 8.30 a.m.:  Black-throated DiverGreat Northern Diver; Red-throated Diver; Little Gull; 285 Shags; and 150 Cormorant.SH
