Rogerstown Estuary/Turvey Park: numerous Wigeon, Teal,
Lapwing, Mallard, Brent
Geese, Black-tailed Godwit, Golden Plover,
Shelduck, Oystercatcher, Redshank, Curlew,
Dunlin; GULLS & a large flock of Finches, Linnets
& Buntings (200+) feeding along the path way. With a
relatively small selection of Sanderling, Little Egret,
Grey Heron, Cormorants, Little Grebe, Shoveler,
Greenshank and Ringed Plover. 3 Grey Plover,
3 Buzzards, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk & a Red
Kite.
Broadmeadows Estuary: spotted among the usual fare were numerous Snipe,
Great-crested Grebe in winter plumage, Goldeneye, Red-breasted
Merganser and 2 female Scaup spotted by John Fields the
previous day, one still feeding in the same area close to the
estuary bank, while the other stayed with some of the Mergansers.BC

Sutton: 3 Long-tailed ducks (possibly more
(didn't have binoculars with me) at rear of Marine Hotel Sutton @
1-20pm (tide in).BC

Ballymun: While driving down the Old Ballymun Road, I
spotted 2 Jays flying along the edge of Santry Woods.BC

Tolka Valley Park: On my
early morning dog walk in Tolka River Valley Park Finglas, birds
spotted among everyday species were Kingfisher, Dipper,
2 Grey Wagtails and a Raven been harried by Jackdaws...
Rogerstown: On my drive to Rogerstown & Turvey, I turned
off at Swords after sighting a Red Kite circling over
Broadmeadows estuary, with no luck getting a photo. While stopping
at the old bridge, spotted a Kingfisher flyby and resting
up a bit to far away for a good camera shot.
Turvey: Arriving at Turvey South Hide, meeting up with John
Fields who had already spotted a Hen Harrier (RT)
bracketing the area, other birds of the day were 5 Buzzards
(sighted at the same time out different hide windows by spotters)
a pair of Peregrines hunting over the dump for a good hour,
with 2 Kestrels along with the everyday birds in the area,
and then the Hen Harrier (RT) returned and rested up 300m
away, giving everyone a good scope view.BC

Bull Island: 6 Long-tailed Ducks (in the channel
between the point and Sutton) highest number on the island for a
few years; and 6 Red-breasted Mergansers.EK

Brittas: 26 Whooper Swan at Gortlum, Mount
Seskin, near Brittas, Co Dublin at 3 pm including at least 3
juveniles. My first time seeing them there this year.LO'B

Bull Island: 3 Gadwall (River Santry Outflow), 500+Dunlin
(North Saltmarsh edges roosting at high tide), 1 Merlin
(North Saltmarsh/Alder Marsh), 3 Long-tailed Ducks ( Sutton
Creek), 1 Kestrel (Alder Marsh), 4 Stonechats (Alder
Marsh), 350+ Mixed Finch Flock (North Saltmarsh- biggest flocks
I've seen could be up to 500 birds mostly Linnets but good
numbers of Goldfinches). 150 Black-tailed Godwits
(North Saltmarsh), 20 Turnstones (North Saltmarsh), 6 Greenshank
(Coastal Path), 15 Grey Plover (North Saltmarsh).EK
